Is magic just around the corner? Or is true love just another conjuring trick, a sleight of hand?
Passing Through is a new romantic comedy from Alistair Rutherford and Peapod Productions.
Due to the success of Passing Through in 2012, we are embarking on a new tour to theatres in the UK, Switzerland and Italy in 2013.
One hot summer’s day a man walks, uninvited, down the path at the side of a house and into the large garden at the back. Alarmed at first by his presence, the owners slowly discover why he has come to their home.
Peapod will create Playtime for The Benvenuto Players, a drama group based in Varese in Italy.
The day will consist of workshops focusing on acting and staged fighting techniques led by Philip Kingscott.
The afternoon will consist of rehearsing and developing short scenes by Scottish and Italian writers, as well as new pieces by members of the group. The day will conclude with an evening performance of the pieces to an audience of family, friends and locals.
It’s a great honour and privilege to be asked to create and run this event and it’s very exciting that a Peapod show is to be performed outside Britain. Hopefully this will be the beginning of more collaborations with international theatre groups and companies.
A dark, dark Christmas comedy. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa’s eight reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment.
As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself.
With each deer’s confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer. …and murkier and murkier… and funnier and funnier!
